Hail damage roof inspection in Brighton

Find out whether your Brighton roof has real hail damage before you call your insurance company. The inspection is free, you get the photos, and we tell you plainly whether a claim makes sense. We are about 21 miles away in Wheat Ridge.

What we check on Brighton roofs

Brighton sits on open plains, so we inspect for wind and hail together. In the historic downtown and the older neighborhoods around it, we see farmhouses and 1950s to 1970s homes with older decking and flashing. The newer subdivisions on the west and south sides have roofs from the 2000s on, where hail strips granules and wind creases the tabs. Brighton took 1.25-inch hail in August 2026 and 1.5-inch hail in June 2025, so if your roof hasn't been inspected in the last two seasons, there may be damage from more than one storm.

Recent hail near Brighton

Storm reports show about 123 hail reports within 10 miles of Brighton since 2004, including 1.25-inch hail in Brighton in August 2026 and 1.5-inch hail in June 2025. During the May 30, 2024 storm, 2-inch hail fell in Derby and 1.75-inch hail in Northglenn, both just southwest of Brighton.

Hail counts and dates are from National Weather Service and Storm Prediction Center reports compiled by StormerSite. Check your own address for hail.

How a free hail inspection works

  1. Ground check. We start with the soft metals: gutters, downspouts, vents, window wraps and the AC unit. Dents there show how big the hail was and which direction it came from.
  2. On the roof. We walk every slope we can safely walk and mark test areas, counting hits on the shingles and checking for cracked mats, missing granules and broken seals. We also check the flashing, pipe jacks and ridge.
  3. Attic, if needed. On older homes or when there's a leak, we check the decking and look for water stains from below.
  4. Photo report. You get the photos and a plain-language summary: no damage, minor repair, or damage that's likely worth a claim.
  5. You decide. Filing a claim is up to you. If you file and hire us, we meet your adjuster on the roof and show the damage. You stay in charge of your claim.

Hail damage or normal wear?

Hail leaves round, random hits: dark spots where granules were knocked off, soft bruises you can feel, and cracks in the shingle mat. Normal aging looks different: even granule loss across the whole roof, curling edges, and cracking along the sun-facing slopes. Insurance generally covers storm damage, not wear, so telling the two apart is the main point of the inspection. Read more in our after-the-storm checklist.

Brighton hail inspection questions

My home is outside Brighton city limits. Will you still inspect it?

Yes. We inspect homes in and around Brighton. If the roof is replaced, the permit comes from Adams County or Weld County instead of the city, and we handle that.

Can one inspection cover damage from two different storms?

Yes. We document everything we find. Your insurer decides how to handle damage from more than one date, so we photograph and describe it as clearly as we can.
