Questions homeowners ask us

Straight answers about our donation, insurance claims and inspections.

How does the $1,000 donation work?

When we complete a full roof replacement, Charity Roofs donates $1,000 of its own money to a church or charity you choose. We send the check straight to the organization within 30 days, in honor of your household, and list it on our giving wall.

Does the donation change if insurance is paying for my roof?

No. The donation is the same $1,000 whether insurance pays or you pay. It's a company giving program, separate from your claim, your contract price and your deductible.

Which organizations can I choose?

Churches, IRS-registered 501(c)(3) charities and K-12 schools. We can't donate to individuals, political groups, or any organization you or someone in your household owns, runs or works for. Send us the name and we'll confirm it before your roof starts.

Does the donation apply to repairs?

No. The $1,000 donation applies to full roof replacements only. If a repair turns into a full replacement, the donation applies to that replacement.

Can you pay or waive my insurance deductible?

No. Colorado law doesn't allow any roofer to pay, waive or rebate a homeowner's deductible, in whole or in part. You pay your deductible, and the donation never offsets it. If a roofer offers to cover your deductible, that's a red flag.

Is the roof inspection really free?

Yes. We inspect your roof, take photos of anything we find, and explain your options at no cost.

Do you work with my insurance company?

Yes. We work with all major carriers, including State Farm, USAA, Allstate and American Family. We can meet your adjuster and point out the damage and, once you hire us, discuss the repair scope with your insurer. You stay in charge of your claim.

Do you do commercial, apartment and metal roofs?

Yes. Along with homes, we handle commercial buildings, apartment complexes, condo associations, HOAs and metal roofs of all kinds, from repairs to full replacement.

Do commercial projects include a donation?

Yes. Commercial and multifamily projects give $1,000 to $2,500 depending on roof size. See the chart on our Giving page.

How much does a roof replacement cost in Denver?

Most Denver-area homes cost about $18,000 to $25,000 to re-roof, and large or specialty roofs can reach $60,000. Size, steepness, materials and the number of old layers all affect the price. If hail damage is covered by insurance, you usually pay your deductible. See our roof replacement cost guide for details.

Is Charity Roofs a new company?

No. Charity Roofs is the new name of Colorado Roofing Contractors, which has served the Denver metro for 16 years.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the Denver metro and surrounding communities within about 50 miles of Wheat Ridge, from Boulder and Longmont to Castle Rock and Elizabeth. See our service areas page for the full list.

Is the donation tax-deductible for me?

No. Charity Roofs makes the donation, so it's our gift, not yours. You won't receive a donation receipt for tax purposes.
